Chairman Paterniti reviewed the motions from September 2nd‘s Planning Board meeting on the application of Southern Tier Brewing Co. for Phase 3 and Phases 4 &5. He noted that the site plan has been modified to eliminate the encroachment on the wetlands and the application was referred to Chautauqua County Department of Planning & Economic Development who found the project to be a matter of local concern. The department encouraged the town to reevaluate the appropriateness of its minimum parking requirements for warehousing uses in the Industrial District. Mr. Paterniti added that upon reviewing the application Attorney Joel Seachrist determined that it should be referred to the Zoning Board of Appeals for an area variance requesting a reduced number of required parking spaces. The ZBA met on September 23rd and granted a variance to reduce the number of required parking spots from 150 to 35 additional spots.
