A public hearing before the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Town of Busti was held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town of Busti Administration Building, 125 Chautauqua Avenue, Lakewood, New York, to consider the following applications:
Application of Chris Couchenour, 1059 Hunt Road, Lakewood, New York, for an area variance for a garage. Property is owned by him and known as Section 385.03, Block 2, Lot 5
of the official tax map of the Town of Busti. Property is in the Conservation/Residential District. The Board reviewed the balancing test and determined that the benefit to the applicant outweighed any detriment to the neighborhood. Tim Young motioned to grant the application of Chris Couchenour to construct a garage. Variance is granted for 75’ lot width and 15’ on the east side yard. Seconded by Kathy Stedman. All aye. Carried.
Application of Brian S. Friend, Erie, Pennsylvania for a Special Use permit for a camp and shed on property located at 1513 Wellman Road, Ashville, New York. Property is owned by him and known as Section 401.00, Block 2, Lot 50.1 of the official tax map of the Town of Busti. Property is in the Conservation/Residential District. Mr. Friend was in attendance and explained his plans for a 28’ x 20’ seasonal-use camp and 16’ x 10’ shed on the property. Chairman Tim Young noted receipt of a letter from a neighbor regarding this application and expressing concern about privacy. Tim Young motioned to grant the application of Brian S. Friend for a Special Use permit for a camp and shed. The permit is granted for three years. Seconded by Scott Schang. All aye. Carried.
Upon motion made by Scott Schang, the meeting was adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
