The Town of Busti is located in Chautauqua County, the southwestern most County in New York State. The City of Jamestown is adjacent to the town. The Village of Lakewood lies wholly within the Town. The Town is served by the Southwestern, Jamestown, Panama, and Frewsburg Central School Districts. Major highways serving the Town include New York State Routes #394 and #474. As a part of the Metropolitan Jamestown area, transportation services are provided through the Chautauqua County Airport and the Chautauqua Area Regional Transit Authority.
Police protection is afforded to residents by County and State agencies and through a contract with the Village of Lakewood. Fire protection is provided by the Busti, Lakewood, and Ashville Fire Departments. Gas and electricity are furnished by National Fuel and Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation.
